Residency at Cone 7 in partnership with Den uferdige institusjonen
A pril 2026
This installation is the result of a two-and-a-half-week artist residency at Cone7 Ceramic
Workshop and is a collaboration between Anne-Lise Voisin and Éléonore Griveau.
Éléonore Griveau is an artist and runs Cone7 Ceramic Workshop; she has lived in Norway
for ten years. Anne-Lise is an artist based in France. This is her second residency in
Bergen. She previously carried out a project in partnership with Cone7 in the winter of
2022, during which she focused on the city’s lights.
According to them, something striking about Bergen is the omnipresence of nature, with
mountains that spill into the city and meet the waters of the fjord. As they talked about it,
Éléonore brought up how important the mountains are to the people of Bergen, who
regularly go hiking or climbing there and head out whenever they can.
Anne-Lise, who lives far from the mountains in central France, feels a strong need to go
hiking in the mountains at least once a year; otherwise, she truly misses their presence.
But what do we feel when we’re in the mountains? This is where the story of the f j el l b ok
comes in, mountain journals kept in mailboxes at the top of hiking trails, where hikers can
record their visit and their impressions of the hike.
So, they set out in search of these journals.
They went to explore the Flåm Fjord; along the way, they passed through mountains, trails,
lakes, and waterfalls. They also hiked to the top of Rundemanen from Bergen.
They let themselves be carried away by the views of the sea and the mountains.
They didn’t find any f j el l b ok , but they were able to observe the changing seasons as
winter slowly gave way to spring. To make sure they always had a little piece of the
mountains with them, they filled their pockets with small stones they found along the way
